The Young And The Restless

The Young and the Restless Update: Monday, December 18 – Claire’s Psych Ward Transfer and Billy Quits Jabot

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, December 18, reveals that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will announce his decision to quit Jabot and go back to work for Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) instead.

Although Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will object at first, Billy will argue that it’s not healthy for him to chase the high of all this Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) drama.

Billy will also admit he feels like he’s in competition with Jack, but it’s a battle that he can’t win. Jack will be saddened over Billy’s view of the relationship and feel like his brother’s running away.

However, Billy will suggest sometimes running can be for the best if you’re going somewhere safe.

Billy will assure Jack that he’s in a good frame of mind and likes the person he is now, so he won’t want to wreck that.

At Society, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will tell Diane Jenkins-Abbott (Susan Walters) about Tucker spilling his plot, which involves stealing a Jabot product and releasing it early at Glacade.

Although Tucker claimed he was going to frame Billy or Diane, Kyle will suspect Tucker actually plans to expose him as a mole.

Diane won’t think they can wait any longer to come clean to Jack about what they’ve been doing behind his back.

Kyle will suggest it’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission, so he’ll hope Jack will be OK with how they scored this intel.

As Billy’s exiting the Abbott mansion, he’ll suggest Jack can give Kyle and Diane updates. Jack will indeed tell Diane and Kyle that Billy’s decided to step down at Jabot.

Kyle will start to confess Tucker’s plan on Monday’s Y&R episode, but Jack will stop him and ask to speak with Diane privately.

Diane will presume things can go back to how they were before and will hope Jack’s going to reinstate Kyle as his co-CEO. Jack won’t be so sure that’s the right call, so Diane will be caught off guard.

At the athletic club, Tucker will face an angry Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) since Kyle poked holes in his strategy and is threatening to jump ship.

Audra will wonder if Tucker’s really going to sell Kyle out, but Tucker will act like Kyle’s destined to side with his family anyway.

Tucker will suggest the important thing is that Audra’s on his team and will act like he’s saving Jabot as a jewel just for her.

Audra won’t be impressed by Tucker’s flattery initially, but he’ll keep it up and seemingly leave her torn about their continued partnership.

At the ranch, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will reveal that the judge accepted Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) guilty by reason of insanity plea, so she’ll be on her way to Memorial Hospital’s psych ward.

Once Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) get texts on their phone from the lab, they’ll reel over Claire truly being their biological daughter.

Victor will be determined to support Claire and will want to be waiting for her when she arrives at the psych ward, so she’ll take off with Cole.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will get the latest news on the situation, so they’ll realize they’ll have to accept Claire on some level for Victoria’s sake.

After Nikki privately downs more vodka, she’ll freak when she sees Jordan (Colleen Zenk) all bundled up outside the window with a menacing expression.

At Memorial, Victoria and Cole will greet Claire, who’ll be weirded out by how they’re looking at her.

Claire will guess that Cole and Victoria came to get the ball rolling on the DNA test, but they’ll admit it’s already done and explain how.

Once Victoria and Cole confirm that they’re Claire’s biological parents, Claire will give them a tiny smile through her tears and seem like she’s dealing with a lot of emotions.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Claire will head down the path to becoming a true Newman, but it won’t be an easy one!
